My review of the Bear Grylls Gerber Survival Sharpener BLUF, (Bottom Line Up Front) it is good enough for a Bugout bag but not some premium sharpening tool. For the I paid for it, NIB (New In Box), it does the job of being a field sharpening tool for emergency/bugout and survival purposes which is what it is labeled as. It could stand a few improvements like making both diamond grit coated sharpening rods rotate (only the small one does) as well as making the sheath into a handle extension but otherwise is good for keeping your knife sharp. THIS IS NOT A BENCH SHARPENING TOOL. The diamond grit will not last forever, the draw through sharpener is only a temporary sharpening implement. I recommend a good sharpening stone for your bench along with a good sharpening steel and a leather and canvas strop. Since all of that is quite heavy for a Bugout bag or rucksack, this tool along with a good double sided whet stone will have to do.
