I quickly makes a strop to use for my knives and to bring in to the field för sharpening my edge on occation. As I say in the film I think you will save the steel in the knife if you strop the knife some times before you resharpen it at the sharpening stone. The knife can still have its basic edge left even if it has become a bit dull. It's atleast worth a try to save the knife a bit.
